Art Director Within Films
We started by looking on "The Lord Of The rings" website and we reviewed, different job titles until we found our Art Director. Which was, Joe Bleakly.

Joe Bleakly controls all the artistic aspects within this film.
"its the job of the art director to create everything that the camera sees inline with what the director wants it to look like"

Bleakly also works in different ways within his job role which means sometimes he has to change to an off-set art director in which he has to focus on getting the set ready before filming.
We have also researched into art directors within the illustration industry. We looked into the art director of "varoom" magazine Fernando gutierrez.
https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&gs_rn=12&gs_ri=psy- In this magazine the art director has to decided on what images goes where and what image completes the other. He has the final say over the layout. When you look through the Varoom magazine, you can tell that Gutierrez ,has carefully considered the layout. Various artists may create or develop specific parts of an art piece or scene; but it is the charge of a sole art director to supervise and unify the vision. In particular, the art director is in charge of the overall visual appearance and how it communicates visually, stimulates moods, contrasts features, and psychologically appeals to a target audience. The art director makes decisions about visual elements used, what artistic style to use, and when to use motion.
One of the most difficult problems that art directors face is to translate desired moods, messages, concepts, and underdeveloped ideas into imagery. During the brainstorming process, art directors, co-workers, and clients are engaged in imagining what the finished piece or scene might look like. However, it is the Art director final decision on what desired imagery goes in the product and where.
