Doodle box project / Detective portraits
I used a tea-bag box for my creation, by cutting down one of the folds I was able to keep the box as box like as possible, so when I came to reconstructing it, it would be as rigid as it once was.

I used the stencil that I created for the fake screen printing for the face, which I then cut out by hand with a scalpel. For the vines on the other sides of the box I created a simple tessellating pattern, that would be quite easy to cut out.

By combining the two briefs, I decided on a stencil based box, which combined my favourite things; Cutting and making. My idea was to have a completely "see through" box, with the simple pattern not deducting from the complex detail of the face.

I am really happy with the result, especially the face which took an extreme amount of patience and dedication to produce it properly.
